GDA Seeks ₹375 Crore for Hindon Elevated Road Ramps and Multi-Level Parking Infrastructure.

Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is set to submit a proposal worth ₹375 crore to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking approval and funding from the state government’s infrastructure development fund for five key projects.

The centerpiece of the proposal is the construction of two ramps to enhance connectivity to the Hindon Elevated Road, with a funding request of ₹200 crore. These ramps, each approximately 400 meters long, will be built on the Vasundhara and Kanawani sides and feature two lanes. The ramps will connect to the elevated road via slip roads linked to Sidharth Vihar township.

A 24-meter road stretch from Sidharth Vihar, including a bridge over the Hindon River, will be connected to the Hindon Elevated Road towards the Delhi (UP Gate) side. This will be facilitated through a cloverleaf interchange, extending the road to Rajnagar Extension and improving traffic flow.

Currently, Vasundhara is connected to the Hindon Elevated Road towards Rajnagar Extension but lacks direct access to the UP Gate side. The proposed ramp near the Kanawani culvert will address this gap, easing traffic congestion for commuters who currently rely on longer routes such as NH-9 or the Mohan Nagar-Dabur tri-section in Kaushambi, both of which are prone to traffic jams. The new connection could reduce commute times to under 10 minutes from the current 30-45 minutes.

Another significant project in the proposal is the construction of an automated multi-level parking facility at Rajnagar Extension Centre (RDC), with a funding request of ₹125 crore. The parking lot is expected to accommodate about 900 vehicles and address chronic parking shortages in this busy commercial hub.

Additionally, the GDA has proposed a ₹36 crore project to develop a road stretch connecting Meerut Road to NH-58, further enhancing local infrastructure.

A GDA official said, “On approval, the Authority will receive funds from the state government’s infrastructure development fund to implement these projects.”
