Garuda Aerospace Opens New Agri-Drone Indigenisation Facility in Chennai.
Drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace recently inaugurated its new agri-drone indigenisation facility in Chennai, marking a significant step towards bolstering domestic drone technology for agricultural applications.
The state-of-the-art facility was officially unveiled by Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Kamlesh Paswan. During the event, Minister Paswan also launched 300 new Centres of Excellence (CoE) and flagged off Garuda Aerospace's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approved "Train the Trainer (TTT)" program, aimed at developing a skilled workforce for the drone industry.
The inauguration was highlighted by a live demonstration of agri-drones, skillfully operated by trained "Drone Didis," showcasing the practical applications and capabilities of the new technology in agricultural practices. This initiative is expected to boost local manufacturing capabilities and enhance the adoption of drone technology among Indian farmers.
