"Flipkart Launches Grocery Fulfilment Center in Visakhapatnam"

E-commerce giant Flipkart has broadened its operational reach by inaugurating a dedicated grocery fulfilment center in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, aimed at providing next-day grocery deliveries to local residents.

This marks the company's second fulfilment center of its kind, following the launch in Vijayawada. The establishment is expected to create approximately 1,000 job opportunities, both directly and indirectly, while also bolstering the livelihood prospects of numerous small businesses, MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises), and local farmers within the region.

Spanning across 77,000 square feet, the fulfilment center is poised to handle up to 8,000 orders daily, catering to the needs of customers not only in Visakhapatnam but also in neighboring areas such as Anakapalle, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram.

Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Flipkart Group, highlighted the diverse product range available at the centre, encompassing over 6,000 items spanning categories like dairy, eggs, chocolates, staples, and FMCG products.

Expressing optimism about the venture's prospects, Hari Kumar G, Vice President and Head of Grocery at Flipkart, emphasized the growing demand for online grocery shopping in Andhra Pradesh. He underscored the centre's role in meeting this surging demand by offering a wide selection of high-quality groceries at competitive prices, delivered conveniently to customers' doorsteps within a day.
