Dhaka invites more Dutch investments

Dhaka: Bangladesh has sought more Dutch investments to further increase trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The foreign affairs adviser, Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, told reporters after the Dutch ambassador in Dhaka, Bea ten Tusscher, had called on him in his office on Sunday.

They discussed the prospects of widening economic and political relations between the two countries.
Iftekhar said, ‘The Netherlands is an important member of the European Union and so Bangladesh attaches great importance to cooperation with the Netherlands both bilaterally and as a member of the important regional group.’

He invited Dutch investments to Bangladesh and hoped trade and commercial relations between Bangladesh and the Netherlands would grow further.
The meeting discussed a possible visit by the adviser to the Netherlands in September to hold discussions with the Dutch authorities.
