Dalmia Bharat expands cement capacity by 6 MTPA with ₹3,520 crore investment.

Dalmia Bharat has announced an investment of ₹3,520 crore to expand its cement production capacity by 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) across Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The expansion includes a 3.6 MTPA clinker unit and a 3 MTPA grinding unit at its existing Belgaum plant in Karnataka, along with a new 3 MTPA greenfield split grinding unit in Pune, Maharashtra. The investment will be funded through a mix of debt and internal accruals, the company said in a statement.

With this addition, Dalmia Bharat’s total installed cement capacity will reach 55.5 MTPA, factoring in ongoing expansions in Assam and Bihar. The new units are expected to be operational by Q4 FY27.

The Belgaum grinding unit will strengthen the company’s presence in southern Maharashtra, while the Pune unit will cater to the untapped western Maharashtra market.

Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director & CEO of Dalmia Bharat Limited, called the investment a key milestone in the company’s Phase II expansion strategy. “The increase in our production capacity is primarily to meet the growing infrastructure demand in Western India,” he said.
