CRDA invites bids for CMO, Secretariat, HoD buildings.
In a significant step towards the construction of capital city Amaravati, the AP-Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) invited financial and technical bids for five towers comprising the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Secretariat and Heads of Departments’ office buildings at an estimated cost of approximately ₹2200 crore.
The first one of the towers will accommodate the CMO, office of the Chief Secretary and other top bureaucrats and its cost is pegged at about ₹600 crore. The last date for submitting the bids is May 16. They will be opened the same day as per the tender notification published on Friday.
These towers are to meet the requirements of the platinum certification of the Indian Green Building Council keeping in tune with the government’s vision to transform the city into a blue-green city with energy-efficient buildings, non-motorized transport in the core capital and other facets of a world-class, smart city. The towers will be coming up on the southern and northern flanks of Palavagu and the one in which CMO will be located is a 46-storied tower and the other four will be 40-storied. Designs of these iconic government buildings have been drawn up by London-based Foster + Partners (F+P) after several months of deliberations with all stakeholders.
