CRDA Approves Amaravati Development Projects Worth ₹11,467 Crore.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) of Andhra Pradesh has approved a series of development projects in Amaravati, totaling ₹11,467 crore. In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday, the CRDA decided to call for tenders for major infrastructure works, including the construction of key buildings in the state capital.

Among the approved projects are the construction of 360 km of trunk roads, estimated at ₹2,498 crore, and the building of reservoirs and gravity canals across Pala Vagu and Kondaveeti Vagu at a cost of ₹1,585 \

crore. Residential complexes for various government officers, including gazetted, non-gazetted, class four, and All India Service (AIS) officers, will be developed with an investment of ₹3,523 crore. Additionally, ₹3,859 crore has been allocated for providing basic amenities in returnable layouts for lands allotted to farmers.

P. Narayana, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, confirmed that tenders for works will be issued in January, with the aim of starting construction promptly. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for high-quality, international-standard infrastructure, including underground drainage, streetlights, and drinking water systems.

Narayana also revealed that tenders have already been called for the designs of five iconic towers, the new Assembly, and the High Court buildings, with tenders for construction to be issued by the end of December.

The Minister criticized the previous government's handling of the Amaravati project, stating, “The false claim of three capitals has decimated Amaravati. As per the promise made to the people of the state, Amaravati will be completed in the next three years.”
