Cosma to set up second facility in India
Pune: Automotive body and chassis systems supplier Cosma International announced the establishment of a new facility, its second in India, at Pune. Cosma already has a product and process engineering services group in Bangalore.
The Cosma Pune plant will start operations in 2010. The facility will supply global customers and global programs as well as regional customers with stamped and welded assemblies. Additional products and processes, such as hydro-forming and Class A sheet metal are expected to be added in the near future.
“The addition of this facility is part of our overall strategic expansion to support global platforms and it brings us closer to customer assembly plants,” said Mr Horst Prelog, President, Cosma International. “India is a key growth market in the automotive industry and we look forward to demonstrating our agility, resources and leadership in this region.”
Cosma International is an operating unit of Magna International Inc and manufactures a comprehensive range of systems.
