Australian automatic door manufacturer Auto Ingress is set to significantly ramp up its presence in India, driven by the nation's rapid modernization of public spaces. The company, which has seen a surge in orders from Indian airports, shopping malls, and other commercial and luxury residential projects, plans a substantial investment in a new manufacturing facility in Chennai.
"We are currently working out plans to establish a significantly larger facility within the next two years," stated Raj Krishna, Managing Director of Auto Ingress.
Earlier this month, Auto Ingress was allotted land by the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT), paving the way for the new facility. Krishna estimates the total investment for land, building, and equipment to be around ₹25 crore.
The expansion will also lead to a significant increase in the company's workforce. Currently, Auto Ingress employs a team of 35-40 people in Chennai, a number that Krishna expects to grow to around 140 in the coming years. This move underscores Auto Ingress's commitment to the Indian market and its belief in the country's ongoing development and demand for advanced automatic door systems.
