AstraZeneca Pumps ₹166 Crore into Bengaluru Global Hub.

Biopharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has significantly expanded its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru with a new facility, backed by a substantial investment of ₹166 crore. This strategic move will increase the hub's capacity to nearly 1,300 employees, including the creation of 400 new jobs.

This expansion marks AstraZeneca's second major investment in India within the past year. It follows the recent scale-up of the company's Global Innovation and Technology Centre (GITC) in Chennai. With these combined operations under AstraZeneca India Private Limited (AZIPL), the company now employs close to 4,000 people across India.

"This Global Hub in Bengaluru is a strategic investment that will play a vital role in advancing AstraZeneca’s bold ambition to deliver 20 new medicines by 2030," stated Jackie Crockford, Vice President, Global Business Services, AstraZeneca, highlighting the importance of the Bengaluru facility to the company's global objectives.
