Aster DM Healthcare to Invest ₹850 Crore in Kerala Over Three Years.

Aster DM Healthcare has committed to investing ₹850 crore in Kerala over the next three years to enhance infrastructure, expand medical services, and boost employment in the region.

Founder and Chairman Azad Moopen announced the investment following discussions with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Industries Minister P. Rajeeve at the Invest Kerala Global Summit. The company aims to significantly scale up its presence in the state, building on its ₹500 crore investment over the last three years.

As part of its aggressive expansion strategy, Aster plans to increase its total bed capacity in Kerala to 3,453 by FY27. Currently, the healthcare giant operates seven hospitals in the state with 2,635 beds, contributing to 53% of its India revenue.

The expansion will be driven by two greenfield projects—Aster Capital Trivandrum, a 454-bed hospital, and Aster MIMS Kasargod, a 264-bed facility. Additionally, the flagship Aster Medcity in Kochi will grow to 962 beds by FY27, with 100 beds already added in Q3 FY25.

Speaking at the investor summit, Moopen emphasized Aster’s commitment to delivering world-class healthcare while generating employment. The company currently employs over 12,700 professionals in Kerala, including doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff. The expansion is expected to create an additional 4,200 jobs.

With this strategic push, Aster DM Healthcare is set to strengthen Kerala’s healthcare landscape while driving innovation and accessibility in medical services.
