Aerotrans Services, a leading air charter service provider, made a significant announcement on Monday regarding the launch of helicopter joy rides in Dhordo, located in the Kutch district of Gujarat. This region recently received acclaim as the best tourism village from UNESCO.
Expanding its offerings beyond Ahmedabad, where it already provides helicopter joyrides, Aerotrans Services is set to commence joyrides in Dhordo starting December 27. Positioned approximately 90 km from Bhuj, Dhordo is a quaint village situated in proximity to the international border between India and Pakistan. The joyrides, lasting about eight minutes, will be priced at ₹5,900 per person. Dhordo also serves as the venue for the annual Rann Utsav, starting in winter, offering tourists a distinctive experience as they witness the expansive white desert, as mentioned in an official statement.
Additionally, Aerotrans Services plans to extend its charter services to various religious and tourist destinations across Gujarat. In the initial phase, the company will facilitate helicopter roundtrips to religious sites such as Palitana, Sarangpur, Somnath, and Nathdwara. Services will also be available for Vadnagar, Nadabet, and the Statue of Unity, according to the company's release. It's worth noting that the seaplane services, previously launched by the Gujarat government from Ahmedabad to the Statue of Unity, are currently non-operational.
Aerotrans Services has been offering joyrides from the Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad since January 2022. The company reports that over 10,000 people have taken advantage of these 10-minute rides, priced at approximately ₹2,478 per passenger."
