Adani Power Inks 25-Year Power Supply Deal with Bihar Utility
Adani Power has signed a 25-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with the Bihar State Power Generation Company (BSPGCL) to provide 2,400 MW of electricity. The power will be sourced from a new greenfield ultra-supercritical power plant to be built in Pirpainti, located in Bihar's Bhagalpur district.
The agreement follows a letter of award that Adani Power won from BSPGCL in August. The award was granted on behalf of the state's two distribution companies, North Bihar Power Distribution Company and South Bihar Power Distribution Company.
Adani Power secured the project by submitting the lowest bid, offering a competitive supply rate of ₹6.075 per kilowatt-hour (KWh). The long-term deal is set to significantly bolster the state's power supply infrastructure.
