Adani and Hindalco Eye Opportunities in Hindustan Copper's New Mine Development Plan.

Hindustan Copper is set to develop two of its copper mines, with Adani Enterprises and Hindalco Industries expressing preliminary interest, according to a source with direct knowledge of the matter. "Adani and Hindalco attended the pre-bid conference earlier today," the source said, requesting anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the discussions.

The two mines, with a combined capacity of 3 million metric tons, are situated in Jharkhand. One of them, the Rakha mine, has been closed for 20 years. "The Rakha mine was becoming costlier to operate, so we want to give it to a developer," the source added.

Both Adani Enterprises and Hindalco have not yet responded to Reuters' requests for comment.
