ACCI inks pact with China
Kabul: An agreement was inked in Kabul which will provide better opportunity to Afghan China investment and trading.
The contract was inked between the head of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) and the Chamber of Commerce head of Sing Yang state of China in Kabul.
Muhammad Qurban Haqjo, executive head of ACCI told a press conference on this occasion that the better trading and investment facilities will be provided to traders of both countries with this agreement.
He did not give more details.
He added Afghanistan has good trading relations with China.
Haqjo said Afghanistan imported goods worth $611 million last year and this year it will increase it to one billion dollars.
Haqjo said that this was the 12th agreement of ACCI with foreign countries. He said ACCI has inked similar agreements with US, Netherlands, UAE, India, Tajikistan and some other countries.
He said that an exhibition of Afghan products will be launched in Sing Yang sate of China in 2010 which will last for six months.
Jiang Hong, Sing Yang head of chamber of commerce who is on a visit to Kabul and has been here for last six days said that with the agreement better opportunities will be provided for businessmen of the both countries.
He said during his six days visit he met with ministers of commerce and industries and mine of Afghanistan and he visited Bamyan, Balkh and Kunduz provinces.
He said keeping in mind the economic development of China, the requirement of the country increased to minerals such as copper, iron and others and currently Afghanistan is the only state rich in mines.
A Chinese company MCC has won the contract of Logar copper mine and has contracted for 30 years.
Logar copper mine has over 12 million tons of copper which is considered one of the biggest mine in the world.
According ACCI officials the preliminary extraction of Logar copper mine has begun.
