5 Companies keen to join race to build key NCR expressways.

As many as five companies have expressed interest in bidding for both the Delhi-Meerut and Eastern Peripheral expressways - two major projects fast-tracked by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) last year.

This indicates revival of interest in the sector that has found few takers of late. Bidders also include international companies from countries including Spain and France, said officials, adding that both expressways are likely to be opened for financial bidding in a few months after a road show to market these projects, among others, abroad which the highways ministry is likely to embark on in March.

'Five companies have submitted their documents in the request for qualification (RFQ) stage, for each of the two expressway projects. The RFQ was closed earlier this week,' said an NHAI official.
