30 firms keen on Metro VII.
Over 30 infrastructure companies, including HCC, Reliance Infra, AFCONS, L&T, J Kumar Infra, Unity Infra, recently evinced interest in bidding for the Andheri (East) to Dahisar (East) Metro VII corridor, which involves designing and constructing an elevated viaduct, and 16 stations.
A pre-bid meeting organised by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) witnessed an overwhelming response from representatives of leading infrastructure companies.
A winning bidder will be selected for each of the three packages in which the Metro VII will be implemented.
The meeting chaired by top MMRDA officials saw the presence of officials from HCC, Reliance Infra, Pratibha Industries, AFCONS, L&T, Dextra India, Tatas, Relcon Infra Projects, Simplex Infra, J Kumar Infra Projects, Unity Infra Projects.
The Hyderabad-based companies such as SEW, KMC Constructions, and IL&FS, the Bengaluru-based SOMA, and the UAE-based Al Fara Infra Projects also attended the meeting.
“The response indicates the level of confidence the bidders have in the government and its agency. The Metro-VII corridor will bring down congestion on the suburban rails and provide Mumbaikars a safe and comfortable travel everyday,” said Sanjay Sethi, additional metropolitan commissioner, MMRDA.
The first package consists of designing and constructing an elevated viaduct and five elevated stations - Andheri (E), Shankarwadi, JVLR Junction, Mahanand and new Ashok Nagar.
The second package consists of designing and constructing an elevated viaduct and six elevated stations - Aarey, Dindoshi, Pathan Wadi, Pushpa Park, Bandongri and Mahindra & Mahindra. The third package consists of designing and constructing an elevated viaduct and five elevated stations - Magathane, Devipada, National Park, Ovaripada and Dahisar (E). The MMRDA will clarify the queries raised by prospective bidders by January 15.
