Zulu Defence Scales Up Integrated Drone Systems to Meet Global Demand.

Bengaluru-based defence drone startup Zulu Defence is preparing to significantly ramp up production as it looks to expand beyond the domestic market, with plans to increase monthly output from around 300 drones currently to 550-600 units.

The company is also planning to move from its existing 15,000 sq ft facility to a larger 45,000-50,000 sq ft unit to support the expansion, according to Nagendran Kandasamy, co-founder and CEO of Zulu Defence.

“We are currently producing around 300 drones a month and operating at about 70-80 per cent of our capacity. The next facility will give us the headroom to take this to 550-600 units a month,” Nagendran said.

As part of the expansion, Zulu Defence plans to double the number of assembly lines from three to six, enabling the company to increase manufacturing capacity and cater to growing demand as it targets overseas markets.
