Zelio E-Mobility Expands EV Output with Odisha Plant Inauguration.
Zelio E-Mobility Limited marked a major milestone in India’s electric vehicle sector by doubling its production capacity and commissioning a new manufacturing facility on February 23, 2026.
The company’s total installed EV production capacity surged from 72,000 units per annum to 180,000 units per annum, effective 4:30 P.M. on the same day. At current utilization levels of around 85% (FY 2025-26 projection), this increase of 108,000 units positions Zelio to capture growing demand for sustainable mobility.
The existing Ladwa, Hisar, Haryana facility increased output from 72,000 to 120,000 units through process optimizations, including extended conveyor belts and additional machinery, with minimal incremental capital. The new Odisha plant, located in Cuttack district, contributes 60,000 units, funded entirely through internal accruals, and began commercial production immediately, enhancing regional supply efficiency and logistics.
The expansion strengthens Zelio’s pan-India manufacturing footprint, improves supply chain resilience, and enhances operating leverage amid rising EV adoption, while maintaining cost efficiencies through low-capex upgrades at the Haryana site.
