World Bank Approves $305 Million for Haryana Clean Air Initiative.

The World Bank has approved a financial assistance package of $305 million (approximately ₹2,498 crore) for the Haryana Clean Air Project for Sustainable Development (HCAPSD), a flagship initiative aimed at making Haryana pollution-free by 2030.

A state government spokesperson said the approval comes after a high-level meeting in November last year between Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and World Bank officials.

The total cost of the HCAPSD is estimated at ₹3,646 crore, with the World Bank loan supporting a significant portion of the project’s rollout. The initiative is expected to strengthen efforts to reduce air pollution and promote sustainable development across the state.
