Work on Phase-II of Hyderabad MMTS to commence soon.

The South Central Railway expects that work on the much-delayed second phase of MMTS (multimodal transport system) in Hyderabad will commence soon, as the private consortium that won the bid for the project is close to resolving issues with the partners.

Last year, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. had finalised the tender, selecting a consortium with Belfour Beatty and Kalindee Nirman as main partners. However, Belfour had subsequently opted to move out of the joint venture, causing further delay to the Rs.860-crore project.

PK Srivastava, General Manager of SC Railway, said Kalindee had informed that it was finalising a new partner for the consortium, which would be completed soon.
