Vikram Solar Commissions 5-GW Module Manufacturing Plant in Tamil Nadu’s Vallam.

Vikram Solar, the Kolkata-based solar module manufacturer, has commissioned its 5-GW advanced solar module manufacturing facility at Vallam in Tamil Nadu. Announced recently, the commissioning marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing expansion in the State.

Building on this milestone, Vikram Solar is preparing to commission an additional 6 GW of module manufacturing capacity at its upcoming facility in Gangaikondan during the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year.

The Gangaikondan complex will also include a large-scale solar cell manufacturing unit. The company plans to commission a total of 12 GW of cell manufacturing capacity there by the end of the next financial year, rolling it out in phases. The overall investment for the Gangaikondan plant is estimated at ₹6,200 crore.

“The Gangaikondan facility will house both module and cell manufacturing operations. The plant will be commissioned with 6 GW module capacity in Q4 FY26,” Vikram Solar Chairman and Managing Director Gyanesh Chaudhary told businessline.
