Vedanta's Cairn Oil & Gas Begins Commercial ASP Injection in Rajasthan

Vedanta Group’s Cairn Oil & Gas, a leading private oil and gas exploration and production company, has announced the implementation of Alkali-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) flooding in the Mangala oil field in Barmer, Rajasthan.

According to the company, ASP flooding can enhance oil recovery in matured fields by up to 60% using polymers and surfactants, compared to a 40% recovery rate using polymers alone.

Steve Moore, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Cairn Oil & Gas, Vedanta, stated, “In line with our commitment to boost India’s domestic oil and gas production, we are proud to pioneer the implementation of ASP flooding technology in our flagship Mangala oil field.”
