Uttar Pradesh and the Tata Group are poised to strengthen their strategic collaboration across technology, manufacturing and clean mobility, with plans encompassing a new AI-focused global capability centre, a significant expansion of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) operations, and fresh investments in electronics and defence manufacturing.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently met Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran to review ongoing projects and chart the next phase of cooperation, underscoring the state government’s push to position Uttar Pradesh as a hub for high-value investments in artificial intelligence, digital services, electronics, defence and clean energy.
Lucknow is expected to play a central role in the expansion plans. The Tata Group has proposed setting up a world-class, AI-led Global Capability Centre (GCC) in the state and has also agreed to scale up TCS facilities in Lucknow, Noida and Varanasi.
