UP to launch highway projects worth Rs 23,000 crore on PPP basis

UP government is planning to invest Rs 23,000 crore (US$4.25 billion) on upgrading state highways and will build a new expressway linking Lucknow and Agra. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 9,500 crore. This will be the second high-speed road in the state after the Yamuna Expressway that connects Agra to Noida near the national capital New Delhi.

The proposed projects will be executed on Public-private partnerships basis.
