UP clears two power projects of 2,450 mw
Mumbai: UP state government has cleared two new power projects of around 2,450 mw and also approved refurbishment and upgradation of the ongoing Parichha Thermal Power Project consisting of two units of 210 mw each.
The hallmark of the decision is the clearance of 1,980 mw thermal power project to be set up by the Bajaj Hindustan Ltd on about 1,500 acre of land in Lalitpur district. According to the decision, the Lalitpur Power Generation Company Ltd, set up under the ownership of UPPCL, would be transferred to the developer as per the terms.
In another decision, the cabinet also okayed the proposal to sign an MoU for setting up of five power projects totalling 450 mw of thermal power generation with the Bajaj group. Ninety per cent of the power generated in these projects would be purchased at the rates fixed by the ERC.
