Two SmartCity co-developers get nod for SEZ.

Two major co-developers of the SmartCity Kochi project, GEMS Education and Maratt Limited, have received the Union government’s approval to set up a Special Economic Zone, with the former also receiving building permit from the State government. With the approvals in place, the construction of the GEMS Modern Academy Kochi is expected to begin soon. Spread over eight acres, the school will have a built-up area of 2.5 lakh sq. ft to house 3,400 students, says a press release issued here. The academy will offer CBSE curriculum with the International Baccalaureate (IB) option in Grades 11 and 12.
