TG Transco to perform power transmission in Telangana.

Times of India reported that a separate transmission company has been created for power transmission in the Telangana region.

As per the GO all the functions presently being carried out by AP Transco in the area of Telangana State will be performed by the TG Transco from June 2nd.

An order has been issued by the energy department creating the new power utility for the new state of Telangana as per the section 53 of the AP Reorganisation Act 2014.

Accordingly to the functions, assets & liabilities posts and staff will be transferred to Telangana Transco. The existing AP Transco will continue for the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh. As per section 53(1) of Reorganization Act 2014, all the assets like sub-stations, transmission lines, corporate training institute, offices, land located exclusively in the jurisdiction of Telangana state, except AP Transco headquarters and spares in central stores will stand transferred to TG Transco on 'as is where is basis'.

With regard to the transfer of employees a permanent arrangement will be made in due course. Pending the permanent arrangement, all staff working in district offices, field offices, zonal offices and CTI as on effective date shall continue to work there and draw their salaries accordingly.

Staff working at headquarters to the extent of posts in TG Transco will be provisionally transferred to TG Transco on effective date following government guidelines for allotment of staff.
