Telangana sanctions Rs. 350 cr for extrapower purchase.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao ordered the release of Rs. 350 crore to TS Transco recently for purchase of additional power aimed at bridging the growing demand-supply gap.

Reviewing the power situation with D Prabhakar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director TS Genco and TS Transco at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister wanted all efforts made to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the State.

The Chief Minister suggested additional power procurement from all available sources, including Kayamkulam plant.

Apart from directing release of funds for purchase, the Chief Minister wanted that there should not be any power shortage in the State.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, the CMD of TS Transco informed Chief Minister that he had negotiated for additional power supply from various sources and necessary power would be procured as per requirement.
