Tata Sons to Pump ₹11,000 Crore into Advanced Technology Projects in Jamshedpur.

Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran recently announced an investment of ₹11,000 crore in advanced technology projects in Jamshedpur, marking a major expansion plan unveiled on the eve of the Founder's Day celebrations.

Describing the moment as akin to “Diwali” for the steel city, Chandrasekaran said the group is once again expanding its footprint in Jamshedpur. “We announced a ₹11,000-crore investment in advanced technology. We also had a good meeting with the Chief Minister. We discussed Jharkhand’s development plans. The entire Tata Group will partner with the state and work together in skill development,” he said.

Speaking during the Founder's Day event, the Chairman noted that the investment would include initiatives aimed at reducing the carbon footprint. “Yesterday we were here and had a very good meeting with the Jharkhand CM. We will be developing something to reduce the carbon footprint,” he said, underlining the group’s focus on sustainability.

Chandrasekaran added that while the Chief Minister expressed interest in expanding collaboration in the knowledge sector, specific projects are still under discussion as such decisions require detailed planning and are not taken overnight.

The announcement coincided with the birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, founder of the Tata Group, and was made as part of the annual Founder's Day commemorations.
