Tata Motors and Tata International have inaugurated a registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF) in Pune, named Recycle with Respect (Re.Wi.Re). The facility, operated by Tata International Vehicle Applications (TIVA), a subsidiary of Tata International, is equipped to scrap both passenger and commercial vehicles with an annual capacity to disassemble 21,000 end-of-life vehicles.
The initiative reflects Tata Motors' commitment to sustainability and the creation of a circular economy. Girish Wagh, Executive Director of Tata Motors, highlighted, “Re.Wi.Re represents our dedication to leveraging advanced recycling processes to maximize value from end-of-life vehicles while supporting India’s sustainability goals.”
Rajeev Batra, CEO of TIVA, emphasized the broader environmental impact of the initiative, stating, “This facility contributes to building a cleaner, regulated vehicle recycling ecosystem in India, aligning with the country’s sustainability agenda.”
The Pune facility joins the growing network of Re.Wi.Re centers across the country, with five others already operational in Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Surat, Chandigarh, and Delhi NCR.
This venture strengthens the longstanding partnership between Tata Motors and Tata International, furthering their shared vision for a sustainable and organized vehicle recycling framework in India.
