Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Power Renewable Energy to establish 200 fast-charging stations for electric commercial vehicles across major cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.
This initiative aims to offer exclusive charging tariffs for Tata Motors’ electric commercial vehicle owners, lowering their operating costs and boosting profitability. Once the network is expanded, users will have access to nearly 1,000 fast chargers nationwide.
Vinay Pathak, Vice President & Business Head – SCV&PU at Tata Motors, expressed the company’s commitment to transforming the electric commercial vehicle market. "This partnership not only enhances access to fast chargers but also promotes the use of renewable energy to make EV operations greener," he said.
Tata Power, under its EZ Charge brand, has already established over one lakh home chargers and more than 5,500 public, semi-public, and fleet charging points across 530 cities. Deepesh Nanda, CEO & MD of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd., emphasized the company's dedication to expanding its EV charging solutions to the commercial vehicle sector and supporting the e-mobility movement in India.
