Suzuki and Tata Elxsi Launch Joint Development Centre in Pune.
Japanese automaker Suzuki Motor Corporation and Indian technology services provider Tata Elxsi have inaugurated a joint offshore development centre in Pune, India, to drive advancements in automotive engineering and sustainable mobility solutions.
Unveiled on November 18, 2024, the centre will focus on lightweight design, safety engineering, eco-friendly materials, and next-generation powertrains. It will also work on software-defined vehicles for electric, hybrid, and alternative fuel technologies, aligning with Suzuki's green mobility initiatives.
Katsuhiro Kato, Suzuki’s Chief Technology Officer, highlighted the centre's role in enhancing electronic and virtual development capabilities to keep pace with connected, autonomous, shared, and electric (CASE) technologies. He also underscored the importance of leveraging Indian talent to support global energy-efficient innovation.
Manoj Raghavan, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Elxsi, noted that the company’s design-led, digital-first approach complements Suzuki’s sustainability goals. Tata Elxsi, with over 13,000 specialists worldwide, brings expertise across the automotive, media, healthcare, and transportation sectors.
The collaboration aims to accelerate time-to-market for advanced automotive solutions by integrating cutting-edge simulation tools and engineering expertise. This partnership marks a significant step in developing green mobility solutions and advancing sustainable technologies for the global automotive industry.
