Superspeciality hospital to be built by June 2, 2017.

The superspeciality hospital to be built on the premises of the new Government General Hospital in Vijayawada will be completed by this day next year, by the time the state government holds its next Nava Nirmana Deeksha in fact.

So promised chief minister Chandrababu Naidu at the foundation ceremony of the hospital. The hospital will be constructed at the cost of Rs 150 crore and will have a bed strength of 240.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the state will soon have ten dialysis units for the benefit of poor patients. Stressing the need for better medical services in the state, he said the government is encouraging public and private partnership in the medical and health sector to ensure affordable healthcare for all. That would make the state a destination for medical tourism.

Naidu said the establishment of diagnostic services in government hospitals in a PPP mode has yielded encouraging results in the last four months. Thirty-three lakhpeople have availed the facilities during that period.

The minister said 278 emergency vehicles have been introduced under the Talli Bidda Scheme. Further 270 vehicles would be added to the 108 services in the state.
