SPV for integrated transport system in city.

Minister for Transport Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has said the government will initiate steps to set up a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to promote an integrated intelligent transport system as part of the Kochi metro rail project once the draft project report in this regard is ready.

Replying to the call attention motion by Hibi Eden, MLA, the Minister said the Kochi Metro Rail Corporation was engaged in preparing the project report on how to leverage various modes of transport, including water and road along with the Kochi metro rail, for the welfare of the public.

He said the project report would include the prospects of neighbouring districts and regions once the integrated transport system comes into place. Revival of inland water transport infrastructure, introduction of efficient transit and motorised transport system and introduction of intelligent transport system were the key factors in this development project, he said.
