Shapoorji Pallonji, L&T bid for AP capital infra project.
Construction companies Shapoorji Palloji and L&T Ltd. have submitted bids for development of the temporary Secretariat building block in the greenfield capital city of Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh.
In the bids opened recently, the two construction companies were major participants, according to sources.
The State Ministry of Municipal Administration and Urban Development in a Government Order has announced that the construction of office space of six lakh sq.ft for Secretariat will be taken up in Velagapudi and Malkapuram villages in the Capital City area instead of Amaravati township, which was earlier considered.
The order is based on the request made the AP Capital Regional Development Authority, the nodal body overseeing the capital region and its development.
The government had accorded permission to CRDA to invite tenders for construction of office space on a six-acre site for the Secretariat at Amaravati with an estimated outlay of ₹180 crore.
The tenders are for both conventional buildings and prefabricated systems by providing time till June 30, 2016 for the construction of the buildings blocks.
