Serentica Renewables, Shanghai Gotion Partner for India's Largest BESS.

Serentica Renewables is set to establish one of India's largest battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Rajasthan, following a new partnership with Shanghai Gotion Digital Energy Tech Co. The Chinese company is a leading manufacturer of energy storage systems (ESS) equipment.

The new facility, a 50 megawatt (MW) / 200.6 megawatt hour (MWh) project, will be located in Bikaner. It marks Serentica's first venture into BESS and is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2025.

According to Akshay Hiranandani, CEO of Serentica Renewables, this is a significant development for India's energy sector. The company is a leading independent power producer (IPP) specializing in renewable energy for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.

The project represents one of the largest BESS capacities to be commissioned in India this year, underscoring the growing momentum behind energy storage solutions in the country.
