Sembcorp Secures 150 MW Solar Project with Battery Storage in India.
Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) announced recently that its wholly-owned renewables subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra Pvt Ltd (SGIPL), has been awarded a 150-megawatt (MW) solar power project, which includes a substantial 300-megawatt-hour (MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS). The "build-own-operate" project is part of a larger tender from SJVN Ltd.
This latest win sees Sembcorp expanding its renewable energy footprint in India. The project falls under SJVN’s 1.2-gigawatt (GW) tender for Inter State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar projects, which also incorporates 600 MW/2.4 GWh of BESS capacity.
The Letter of Award was officially received by SGIPL from SJVN Ltd. This development underscores Sembcorp's commitment to sustainable energy solutions and strengthens its position in India's rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
