SCB to Get Detailed Master Plan in 6 Months.

At last, the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) is going to get a detailed master plan and land use plan in about six months' time. Since the inception of SCB, there was no master plan and land use plan for SCB leading to zigzag development of Secunderabad Cantonment.

The executive committee of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) which met recently, has approved the lowest bidder Feedback Infra Pvt Ltd. (Gurgoan). The SCB in their board meeting held on February 9, decided to approve the lowest bidder.

Work order to the approved agency would be given by HMDA after receiving official communication from SCB officials. The time frame for preparing the master plan is going to be six months from the date of signing the contract.

SCB had approached HMDA for preparing a comprehensive master plan and for the exercise the amount that would be borne by the SCB. Secunderabad Cantonment is spread over an area of 40.17 sq.km. with a civilian population of over 5-6 lakh. As many as eight planning agencies have submitted Request for Proposals (RFP) for preparing a comprehensive master plan for SCB area. Secunderabad Cantonment area is a local body falling under the administrative control of the Union defence ministry.
