Sakra World Hospital Set to Open Second Unit in Bengaluru, Announces ₹1,000 Crore Investment

Toyota Tsusho and Secom Medical System to Establish ₹1,000 Crore Multi-Super Specialty Hospital in Bengaluru

Japan's Toyota Tsusho and Secom Medical System are joining forces to launch the second multi-Super Specialty Hospital, Sakra, in Bengaluru, with a substantial investment of ₹1,000 crore.

The upcoming facility, situated in Banaswadi, is slated to accommodate 500 beds upon completion. As part of their expansion strategy, the hospital group aims to incorporate an additional 1,000 beds over the next five years, with the new facility anticipated to be operational by the end of 2026.

Sakra World Hospital intends to augment its capacity by an additional 300 beds, aligning with its broader objective of expanding by 1,000 beds in the coming years.

Established through a collaboration between Japan's healthcare giant, Secom Medical System, and trading conglomerate, Toyota Tsusho, the new facility underscores the partners' unwavering dedication to meeting the healthcare requirements of both local and international communities.

Tatsuro Fuse, Executive Director of SECOM Co Ltd, and Chairman of SECOM Medical System Co Ltd, Japan, expressed, "The new facility is an extension of our firm commitment towards fulfilling the healthcare needs of the local and international communities."

Meanwhile, Lovekesh Phasu, the group's Chief Operating Officer, revealed ongoing discussions regarding plans for a third facility, potentially accommodating 300 beds. Although the deal for the third unit has not been finalized, projected investments range between ₹700 crore and ₹800 crore.

With the addition of the new hospital, the group anticipates generating employment opportunities for nearly 3,000 individuals, with 2,000 to be directly employed by the company and the remainder as contractual employees.

Furthermore, Sakra World Hospital's leadership team emphasized their commitment to patient safety and healthcare excellence through NABH accreditation and the implementation of the Kaizen approach for safety protocols and quality care.

Naoya Matsumi, Managing Director of Sakra World Hospital, articulated, "Our mission is to prioritize patient safety and quality care through rigorous programs, processes, and certifications, such as NABH accreditation and Kaizen activities."
