Sagarmala Push: Centre Clears Key Connectivity Project at Deendayal Port.

Sarbananda Sonowal has approved the construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) at LC-235 at Deendayal Port, in a move aimed at strengthening port-led development in the country.

The project, estimated at ₹132.51 crore, is part of the Government of India’s flagship Sagarmala Programme and aligns with the objectives of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which focuses on enhancing multi-modal connectivity and improving logistics efficiency nationwide.

According to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the initiative is expected to bolster infrastructure at the port and streamline cargo movement. The construction work is currently being executed by Western Railway on a deposit basis.
