Rs. 56 Cr 4-lane Bypass Road in Prakasam Dist.
District collector GSRKR Vijay Kumar has said that the government has decided to construct a four-lane bypass road from Cheemakurthi to Uppalapadu Musi river.
At a meeting with revenue officials here on Tuesday, he said that in the district, the road on a 14km stretch from Cheemakurthi panchayat to Uppalapadu Musi river will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 56 crores. 'With this highway, the old highway alignment will be changed and now the residents of Cheemakurthi will be free from pollution caused by heavy vehicles carrying granite from surrounding industries,' he said.
The collector asked the revenue officials to acquire 240 acres for the construction and to conduct a survey and submit a report soon.
