Rs. 11.4 crore for Tajbagh dargah revamp released.

The city's famous Tajbagh dargah of Hajrat Baba Tajudin is set to get a facelift. The state government has released Rs. 11.40 crore to renovate the main dargah structure and related works. Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) has already kicked-off the tendering process.

The state planning department released the funds through a notification dated November 11. The department has said 20 crore were supposed to be released in current fiscal for Tajbagh dargah's development and modernization project. 'Divisional commissioner Anoop Kumar sent a letter on August 22 requesting release of funds. Department is releasing 11.40 crore,' it said.

The state government had approved Tajbagh dargah development and modernization project at a cost of 132 crore on September 30, 2013. The then chief minister Prithviraj Chavan had performed bhoomipujan on October 1. Since then, NIT had started minor works like construction of shopping complex, public toilets and compound wall.
