ReNew Power signs jv pact with South Korea’s Hanwha Q CELLS for two solar projects in Telangana

ReNew Power has signed a joint venture agreement with South Korea's Hanwha Q CELLS to develop two solar projects in Telangana with a total capacity of 148.8 MWp, the Indian company said in a release.

The generated power will be sold under a power purchase agreement with the Southern Power Distribution Co. of Telangana State Ltd, the company said adding the projects will be commissioned in June 2016.

'It is the first time that Hanwha Q CELLS is investing into solar projects in India. Hanwha Q CELLS will also supply and install its 'German Engineered' 310/315 Wp solar modules to these projects, that are being developed in Medak and Mehbub Nagar districts of Telangana,' the company said.

The delivery involving 477,419 modules will begin in August and is scheduled to be completed next year.

ReNew Power currently has a portfolio of over 1,000 MW of commissioned and under-construction projects clean energy assets, it said.
