RattanIndia's 3rd unit of Amravati plant online.

The third unit of the 1,350-MW Amravati Thermal Power Plant of RattanIndia Power has gone online.

The plant is at Nandgaonpeth, Amravati district, Maharashtra. Phase 1 of the project has five units of 270 MW each.

With the third unit online, the commissioned capacity stands at 810 MW.

The remaining two units are to be commissioned within this fiscal. Amravati power is already supplying electricity to Maharashtra energy utility MSEDCL through its two previously commissioned units.

'We are well on our path to achieve commissioning of the entire 1,350 MW by the end of current financial year and the 1,350-MW Phase 1 project at Nashik by the end of the calendar year,' said Rajiv Rattan, Chairman, RattanIndia Power. RattanIndia is developing coal-based power projects consisting of two 2,700-MW power plants at Amravati and Nashik.
