Rainbows Hospitals chain to expand in Chennai, Vizag.
Hyderabad based children's hospital chain Rainbow Children's Hospital will set up a 100-bed hospital in Bangalore in six months. Beisdes this, two more hospital in Visakhapatnam and Chennai each with 150-bed capacity will be set up in about two years. The hospital chain now has about 700-bed facilities in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Bangalore, according to its chairman K Ramesh.
He said it will set up a model hospital in Hyderabad. It would have all the modern facilities to treat children.
'We opt for an asset light model and do not invest into land and buildings. All the projects are fully owned by Rainbow Hospital, however, we are also evaluating a subsidiary model by associating with local doctors for Jaipur and Pune projects. We are in discussion for joint ventures there,' he said.
'We raised Rs 100 crore last year from CDC, UK and have some unused amount left. We would look to raise some debt for the Chennai and Vizag projects,' he said.
