Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd Emerges as Lowest Bidder for Southern Railway Order.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a major electrification upgrade project from Southern Railway. The project involves the upgradation of the electric traction system from 1x25 kV to 2x25 kV for the Salem Junction–Podanur Junction and Irugur–Coimbatore Junction–Podanur Junction sections under the Salem division.

The project is aimed at enhancing the traction system to support a 3000 MT loading target. The total cost of the work is ₹143.38 crore.
