Public Hearing on Thermal Plant Soon.
Telangana State PCB is going to organise a public hearing on May 23 to elicit the opinion of the people regarding the construction of two ash ponds for the Phase-1 of the proposed Super Critical Thermal Power Project, scheduled to begin at NTPC in Ramagundam. Phase-1 of the proposed 4,000 MW power project includes the construction of 2x800 MW power plants.
According to government officials, for the new project to begin, around 1,400 acres of land is required and 295 acres of land has already been made available in surrounding areas of the existing NTPC. The rest has yet to be acquired.
