Premier Energies Drives Solar Future with New 1.2 GW TOPCon Cells.
Premier Energies Limited has announced the successful commissioning of its new 1.2 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line at Fab City, Hyderabad. This marks a significant step for the company, positioning it among the first few Indian solar manufacturers to operationalize a TOPCon production line capable of achieving solar cell efficiencies exceeding 25%.
The newly commissioned line features an advanced 16-busbar architecture, designed to enhance power density and ensure superior energy yield even under real-world operating conditions. This 1.2 GW capacity significantly bolsters Premier Energies' high-efficiency manufacturing capabilities and represents a major milestone in its adoption of next-generation solar technologies.
The company is also aggressively expanding its overall production capabilities. Premier Energies is currently working towards increasing its cell production capacity to 8.4 GW and its module production capacity to 11.1 GW by June 2026.
This commissioning directly supports Premier Energies' strategic vision of high-efficiency, vertically integrated manufacturing, encompassing the entire production chain from ingots and wafers to cells and modules. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the Indian government's "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (Self-Reliant India) campaign, promoting domestic manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports in critical sectors like renewable energy.
