The Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd has achieved a significant milestone with the commissioning of the project titled "Transmission System for evacuation of power from 2X500MW Neyveli Lignite Corp. Ltd TS-1 (Replacement) (NNTPS) in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu." The project officially commenced operations on February 10, 2024, and subsequently received the Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) on April 10, 2024.

This project's completion marks a crucial step in enhancing the transmission infrastructure for efficient power evacuation from the Neyveli Lignite Corp. Ltd TS-1 plant in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu.
